Yeah, she hit a big wiper out in the desert, had to take a drop, took a couple of choppers to get it out, scraped it on in 6 and 2 putt. She followed it up with birdie on the next hole though.

Great deal for juniors. She plays free with me.

Here's some pics of track. Much like We ko pa. Tribal course, no houses.

My wife and I are thinking of going to Palm Desert in March. We've never been there. Do any of you have suggestions as to what courses we should play? I don't mind paying $2 hundy to play a really nice track once. Then I'll look for bargains for the rest of the trip.

The main reason I chose Palm Desert is I have a condo I can use there so I don't have to shell out for an expensive hotel.

I hear I'll fit right in with the geezers, so they tell me.

    Suggestions??

BTW, I played Quintero in Phx over Christmas. It's out in the sticks but well worth the trip. Bring your A game!

The PGA West Stadium course would seem to be obligatory. The Tour's Pro-Am event this weekend just finished up there. It's cool to play a course that you see the big guys play on TV. I'm a pretty bad player (14 index) but had a good time on my one trip to that course, until losing focus at the end. I didn't even have any wind to contend with on the island green 17th and still couldn't settle down and make a decent swing. Not a hard shot at all, but it messes with your mind -- well, weak minds like mine, anyway.

I went out at something like noon on a weekday in March. One of the people in my group (all strangers to me) was having a bad day and taking double figures on most holes, so the pace was slow, but I don't remember any traffic behind us (and there were marshals trying to move us along anyway). I'd definitely play there again.

I should add, speaking of the just-completed PGA tournament, that I would not bother with the courses at La Quinta. I've played -- or I should say tried to play -- there three times. The first was in the peak of summer and it was 108 degrees outside, so that was unpleasant, but at least I got around. The other two times, the course was so overbooked that the pace of play was unacceptable. Both times, the staff gave some nonsense excuse for the overcrowding, which I believed the first time (hence the third visit), but after the second failure I vowed never to go back.

Please don't say 14 hdcp is all that bad... I'm a 12 and consider it awesome when I shoot 85. Once in a blue moon, I break 80 but those days are pretty much gone. Keep it under 90 and I'm all good!!!

    Thanks for the info
