James' release confirmed by Suns' GM Ryan McDonough. Needed to create roster spot for Isaiah Canann with Booker nearing return/

Mike James' release not shocking. Had been passed on depth chart by Canaan and fallen out of favor because of his style of play, the ball sticking to him too often.

It was a cool story for a minute but dude thinks he's Iverson. To many times did I see Booker, Warren or Daniels hot and James instead of getting them the ball he goes into hero mode

Really surprised by that but far from disappointed. Glad James is gone instead of buying out Monroe. I think this should send the message we don't plan on buying out Monroe so if anyone wants him they need to trade for him.

No big deal. But I was wondering if someone could play hurt and have the injury extension stand?

James was the one to go if the Suns were not going to trade a big man.

Ulis is under contract for the next two seasons.

I'm glad the Suns gave him the opportunity and he was the first two-way player to make an NBA roster.

Additionally it may mean the Suns want to pursue Len in free agency as he is eligible to be traded tomorrow with consent. I'm sure some playoff teams were willing to offer the Suns a second round pick or two for his services.

It wouldn't surprise me if they could get a 1st round pick from a playoff team for Len. He's on a low salary this season and would help a playoff team in need of rim protection and rebounding, either as a starter or off the bench. The Suns don't need any more 2nd round picks, I know for sure they have 2 but I read somewhere they could have as many as 4 this year because they could end up with 7 picks in this draft if all of the 1st rounders convey that they're owed by Miami and Milwaukee.

I will put you down for a dozen more second round picks.

Perhaps Len could fetch a first round pick from a playoff team if the Suns were inclined to shut the door.

However, I think the Suns wait until the draft before deciding what to do.

I did not think it was allowed. It’s the logical choice.

I think we want to keep Len. And we do t need any second round picks.

We will very likely have 4 second rounders.

I thought so but I can't find any info outside of owning our own 2nd rounder and we also have Toronto's 2nd rounder from the Tucker trade last year. Where do the other 2nd rounders come from?

It’s the right move. I liked him a few years back but now that we know what kind of product he is we can move on.
