1 rival exec said he guesses the yankees have a 50-50 chance, maybe a little more, to end up with japanese league star shohei ohtani. in that bet, i'm taking the more.

Seattle and San Fan finalists, with perhaps the other west coast teams. He wants to play on the west coast.

    Shohei Ohtani - S - Player
Red Sox team president Dave Dombrowski confirmed Sunday that he was informed the Red Sox were out of the running for Shohei Ohtani.

The Red Sox had hoped to make a strong presentation to Ohtani and his representatives this week, but they won't be afforded the opportunity. The Mets, Yankees, Twins, Pirates, Blue Jays, Athletics and Brewers have also been told they won't advance to the next round, while the Giants and Mariners have made the list of finalists. The Angels, Dodgers and perhaps the Padres are expected to join them.

Where is ARZ in all this? Man, if LAD get him & Stanton that would be ridiculous.

#DBacks also out on Ohtani, per source. Teams that have yet to acknowledge outcome include #Cubs, #Angels, #Rangers, #Padres. Possible indication they’re in; not confirmed.

Meeting with the Giants today. I’d be excited as a Giants fan, but my guess is he signs with Seattle.

Sources: Shohei Ohtani is done interviewing the seven finalists to sign him. His last meeting was actually Tuesday night with the San Diego Padres. Next, presumably, will be his decision. Timetable is not clear yet, but it could well be soon.
