It is with the heaviest of hearts I have to share that Bob Weeldreyer aka JW7, a founding member of ASFN and an Admin has passed away. JW7 was an amazing man who loved his Cardinals and hated P&R more. He was generous, thoughtful, and loyal to his friends. He loved his dog and you could see every great trait a dog has shining through him. I had the pleasure to attend several training camps in Flagstaff with him.

Bob enriched my life and I will miss him.

Did he attend halftime meet ups ever? I think I met him there. In any case, my heart goes out to him, his family and to all those who loved him or were touched by him in some way.

Truly one of the greats... I spent many Many many hours on top of the hill in Flag watching practice with Bob... I always enjoyed his company we would meet for lunch often at the pizza joint down the road prior to practice. He insisted and demanded to pay every single time. He would mail me books pretty regularly back in the day. I remember when he bought his new Mazda… The very next training camp he couldn't wait to take me out and show it to me he was very happy about the car... No man ever had more love for dogs in the world than this guy... RIP Bob you will truly be missed!!!! Im still in shock!!!!

Oh, man, this is a punch in the gut. Didn't know Bob very well, but we did meet him many times at halftime meets, and of course, knew him through here. My heart goes out to his family, his dogs, who just won't understand, and his friends on here who are hurting much more than I am. Rest in peace, Bob.

Like I said earlier, I didn't know him at all except from here. About 4 or 5 years ago, the newest Vince Flynn novel had just come out in hardback. I whined a little in the Books forum that I'd have to wait a few years because I'd recently switched to Kindle and I couldn't justify buying a hardback on top of all my digital purchases, and the Mitch Rapp series wasn't yet available digitally. He offered to send me his copy so I thanked him and sure enough, a few days later the book arrived. It was a brand new hardback, not his copy after all. I learned later that he did the same for at least one other Flynn fan. It was a small but very nice gesture and told me a lot about the man.

What?? What happened? Was he sick or was this sudden? I didn't hear about anything of him being sick. This stinks. He was a great help on keeping the forum going when the other company owned it. Was a great help on the transition when we did take over. Damn, he will be miss. I'm shocked as I had no idea he was sick. :(
