Former Arizona State football coach Frank Kush has died.

Sources tell ABC15 that Kush died “peacefully” overnight at a Valley hospital.

Kush coached ASU from 1955 to 1979. He ranks as one of the all-time winningest coaches with a 176-54-1 record.

This totally caught me by surprise. Frank Kush meant so much to so many. He was ASU football.

    Thank you for the memories.

    Rest in Peace.

RIP Coach Kush. Fun days back when he was the coach. He could really get the best out of his players. But, he couldn't coach today's kids, he would be too "mean" to them.

OMG. I have a signed picture of him with Dan Devine when they came into my office moons ago. So upset to hear this news. RIP Frank, you were one of a kind.

I was at his last game after being fired, 70000 +devils chanting #}<^ Fred Miller during the game and then the team carrying him off the field. What a great coach and a great person- he will be missed.
