You sound like a lib. Grow up.
And you're sounding like someone who wants to shove a political agenda into everything.
Agreed that this should be moved to P&R though. RIP to the player. Very sad.
This is a cop out. You know damn good and well you shouldn't drive drunk even when youre drunk and so does everyone else.
So you’re saying alcohol doesn’t impair a persons judgement?

"I'm not that bad" or "it's not that far and getting my car would be inconvenient" are hugely rationalized when drunk.
Part of the overall problem is thinking that everyone handles alcohol the same. After six beers there's no outward effect on me. On another person, six beers might have them stumbling around and slurring their words. It's my responsibility to accept that even though I feel fine, I need to take an Uber or cab home. And many of us have driven when we think we can get by.
I think what we really need are more options to do the right thing by establishing cheaper services to get home safe, especially in places like Las Vegas and Phoenix.
I agree, I hate bringing politics in to these things. But stating that the guy broke more than one law is a fact, and we shouldn't be afraid to state which laws he was breaking (allegedly) because someone's feelings might get affected one way or another. The remainder of the debate can be moved to P & R.
Sure, they're facts by definition, but the thread was already edging in a direction where it was beginning to address the political implications of the accident, instead of the accident itself.
Does anyone remember the hamburger drill that BA and the coaches ran the first day of hitting in camp in 2015? I watched it on TV and what an instant fan I became of LB Edwin Jackson. As i recall, the coaches had RB Paul Lasike (BYU) who was a load, take a handoff and go one on one with Jackson. The collisions were ear-popping. The players were going nuts. It was so good that they had Lasike and Jackson go at it like 3-4 times, and each time neither guy backed down. I remember hoping that both those guys would make the team, but, alas, neither did.
RIP Edwin Jackson. I am proud to be one of your fans.
Yes should be moved to the lib safe space that is the P&R
So what, Americans drive drunk all the time.
Lock them up and prevent the other deaths, this one is no worse, they are all terrible.
The US does not take it seriously even today the penalties are less than they were in the UK 30 years ago
What does this have to do with being liberal .. I want far harsher penalties for drunk driving.
You on the other hand seem to want to talk up an anti immigrant storyline.
OK. I'll dumb it down for you. This guy came into this country illegally. Got caught. Got kicked out. Came back illegally again, got caught again, got deported again. Came back illegally a 3rd time, got caught, got deported again. This time he comes back illegally again, drives drunk, and kills 2 people. Had he been made to stay out or even better, sent to prison for multiple violations of our immigration laws, these 2 men would be alive today. Funny, how like all leftists these days you're taking the side of the non-citizen over the citizen. This guy had no business being in our country and now 2 people are dead because of it. How this is lost on you is mindboggling. Typical but mindboggling nonetheless.
Nidan, you need to read this ^, perhaps it'll possibly make sense to you.
Cause and effect.
Let me dumb it down for you, if he was driving sober the two men would still be alive today regardless of his immigration status.
