Pure speculation, but all thee coaches know whats going on, ex players obviously do, journalists know, boosters know, ADs probably know, but the NCAA has no clue? I find that extremely hard to believe.

Thats what I mean when I say the NCAA will be wrapped up in this thing. FBI are going after the big names here (Nike, Addidas, ect.). That list will include the NCAA to some extent.

There's already a claim out there that the guy who quit Bama, Kobie Baker, was involved in getting Ferguson to verbally commit there awhile back. He was a former NCAA compliance officer and apparently convinced Alabama he could get them Ferguson, and get him cleared. So they agreed to hire him, Ferguson committed, a week later they officially announced Baker was hired.

all went well until Ferguson changed his mind and decommitted and surprise Ferguson wasn't expected to clear and went to play in Australia.

It raises the question of did Baker believe he had some deal in place to get former co workers at the NCAA to help clear a kid who wouldn't otherwise have cleared? If that story is true, it absolutely implicates the NCAA as it implies they're open to breaking their own rules, and it sort of explains why John Calipari hired a former NCAA compliance official a few years ago at Kentucky.

There's a rumor on Players Program from a reliable guy that there's big recruiting news tomorrow but i'm guessing it has to do with Shareef. I can't see anyone committing right now and Bol is a lock to Oregon. Glad they're benefitting from our mess.

Shareef signed financial aid paperwork, which was the reason why Miller waited to discuss recruitment.

Technicality, though Shareef will still get a free ride.

In order for Miller to publicly discuss recruits, he has to have some sort of documentation signed, and since recruits don't want to sign NLIs because of the investigation, this was the next-best option.

Bol is overrated but it sucks the investigation fallout is benefitting Oregon. The way Altman is pulling recruits I think they're here to stay.

Bol and Norris are both very overrated prospects. Norris had a bad summer and Bol will struggle against larger players. Funny to think that Bol is the #3 prospect in the 2018 class. He wouldn’t be Top 10 this year.

That's what kids should do anyways either sign a scholarship agreement or don't sign at all. NLI's are absolutely useless to elite recruits they only help the school

I can't make up my mind on Bol I thought he was vastly overrated but he had a terrific summer. he can legitimately shoot and he can block shots, the rest of his game is still raw.

I don't like Norris at all, he runs like an old man or a kid with severe growing pains which is probably the case.

Too skinny and plays soft, but he's skilled.

Bol might be incredibly talented but I laughed when I read something to the extent of “I’m not like my dad, he was a big. I am a perimeter player.” Dude you’re 7’2. I don’t care if you’re beanpole. So was your father. Get your skinny tall butt in the paint.

FWIW Taeshon Cherry decommitted from USC and reopened his recruitment. Arizona was the runnerup at the time, and lots of people thought he was the 2nd kid in the FBI scandal at USC(originally thought to be COB Jr) but now USC fans are insisting it was actually J'Raan Brooks who decommitted awhile ago.

Cherry presumably decommitted because of the FBI stuff so that would seem to make UA less attractive now but also USC is having a tough season, expects to have a mass exodus of players(McLaughlin, Stewart, Metu, Boatwright, and Melton) so he may simply have decided USC won't be good.

Very talented kid but he's also pretty selfish and he didn't do himself any favors changing highschools a few weeks before the school year started because he said his HS coach wasn't on the same page with him. Sort of reinforced the me first talk about him.

I'm guessing he ends up at SDSU or Gonzaga but will be interesting to see if he looks at Arizona.

Obviously, the investigation is on the back burner until the end of the season. Until it gets resolved, UA and the other schools are going to remain in recruiting limbo.

They're not landing any big fish until there's some kind of closure with the investigation. Maybe Miller can get a lower ranked kid like Sam Froling or a transfer. Akot and Randolph being a bit more raw than expected is a good thing because they should be back. Not sure if Akot is in the doghouse or injured but his game wasn't ready to reclassify.
