Embiid begged to play and they didn't know about the tear until after the season (thought it was a bone bruise).

Fultz agent seems to be claiming injury. I think this is different (although the link to draft picks, injuries, and handling by the team all seem the same).

February 11, 2017: Shortly after Bodner’s report,Colangelo confirmed the meniscus tear to the media before the Sixers’ 117-109 win over Miami. Embiid did not play, but that was not announced until the day of the (home) game.

“A lot of players do play with minor tears,” Colangelo said via NBA.com. “Once again, the injury is thought to be mostly about the bone bruise and that’s what he’s being treated for. If he can show he is healthy and able to play, there is no reason he shouldn’t play. This is not thought to be a severe injury.”

Sometimes listening to the athlete is the last person you should trust. Competitors want to play regardless of their health.

Ok... Embiid's last game was January 27th. What does this show?

It shows they played him with a tear in his meniscus, realized they made a mistake then shut him down.

I don't see where it shows that they knew about the tear when they played him in Jan. Can you show it to me? Maybe I missed it.

The tear was discovered after Embiid underwent an MRI following a 93-92 victory on January 20th over the Portland Trailblazers. Embiid left the game in the third quarter with a left knee contusion after landing awkwardly following a drive to the basket.

There is some thought that the torn meniscus could be a pre-existing condition which the ensuing MRI discovered, rather than caused by the fall on January 20th, although the two injuries being related has not been completely ruled out.

The tear is a low-grade tear and is not expected to require surgical intervention. It is unclear whether the tear is contributing to the soreness and swelling which has kept Embiid out of 11 of the last 12 games, including the last 8 in a row.

Gotta give Hinkie credit. He didn't play the franchise player since he wasn't 100% healthy.

Gotcha, that contradicts other articles I've read, but really the secrecy makes things difficult to know.

may be off topic, but which organization fired some personnel due to miss diagnosis? or some injury was over looked?

Wow. Changed his mechanics and then shot thousands of times. Tried to hard?

Isn't occams razor that he hurt his shoulder and changed his shooting motion because of that?

The weird thing is this is a kid who's been working out with a pro trainer since he was 10 years old, you would think that guy would have told him you're clearly hurt rather than tell him to change his shooting motion.

Glad they're going to sit him although 3 games doesn't seem like long enough
