And it's not just Hollywood. That's what's getting lost here. This happens in all walks of life. Hollywood just has the most visibility.

I think the reason our industry gets so much heat is because we hold ourselves as the bastion of morality, civil rights and art, wen the reality is our biz is beyond corrupt/disgusting.

Really? I am surprised that Hollywood is so idealistic. I would've thought it was more cynical, along the lines of "A sucker is born every minute", ala Barnum and Bailey.

I've never thought of Hollywood as the bastion of morality.

Chaplin is right. It happens in all professions. But the price of employment may not be sex. Maybe it's working conditions that are dangerous to your health. Maybe it's working long hours that prevent you from having a social or family life. Maybe it's being willing to push the boundaries of what is legal in terms of, say, finances. In many pro sports, it's who's willing to take a long-term toll on their bodies.

Whenever you have a surplus of workers for coveted employment positions, the question is going to be who wants it more. In some cases, we have laws that establish a line you can't cross. Minimum wage is a basic example: Some people would be willing to work for less, so we step in and say, no, you can't go lower than this. Hollywood can clean up its sex act, but there will still be another power struggle line somewhere.

I'm so glad I've never really had any power to use to abuse women. Because if I had...... no one in those positions are safe anymore.

This is a watershed moment, real change is possible. At least I hope so. My oldest daughter is 20, and I want all three of my daughters to not have to deal with this stuff.

Oddly enough, this doesn't include the current POTUS. Some people still ignored all moral values and voted for the guy.

Yep. People didn't care. I still want the behind the scenes NBC tapes of the Apprentice to leak. Allegedly there is some juicy stuff there that will just confirm what we already know.

This isn't odd, there's still a number of people who say or think that these women somehow deserved being assaulted because they were in proximity to Louis CK or whoever else.

I mean the way Hollywood presents itself to the rest of the country. It's completely hypocritical. I still can't for the life of me understand the standing ovation Roman Polanski got at the Oscars years ago... or that people still work with him. It's mind-boggiling.

This town is a cesspool. It preys on people's dreams.

I think the issue with this city is that it's full of artists and most people become artists because they are damaged in some way, shape or form... present company included. And when you give damaged people power, it can go sideways REAL fast.

It's a town full of dreamers, trying to live through a lot of nightmarish situations.
