    Today-

US Steel hopes to bring back 10,000 jobs....

United States Steel Corp (X.N) could be looking at restoring up to 10,000 jobs in the United States, Chief Executive Mario Longhi told CNBC on Wednesday, without providing a timeline for the additions.

Investors have put fresh bets on steel company shares on a positive sentiment in the industry that has been fueled by the Nov. 8 election.

"I have not felt an environment of positive optimism, where forces are converging to provide for better environment in quite a while," Longhi was quoted as saying in the interview.

    Trans-Lux moving back.....

Donald Trump's win in November was the final nudge for one manufacturer to move its production back home from China.
For over a year, New York-based Trans-Lux -- which makes LCD and LED displays -- has contemplated relocating its Chinese facilities to the U.S.

"Earlier this year, we didn't think Donald Trump would win," said Allain. "But we closely watched his campaign and listened to his protectionist rhetoric. His win forced us to reevaluate our plans in China." Now with Trump's win, Allain said the company is accelerating its move back to the U.S., with the goal to make all of its products in America within a year.

You know that SoftBank plans were in place before Trump elected and that the meeting was simply the CEO trying to soften Trump for a potential merge of Sprint (up 9% today) and T-Mobile (up 4.3% today).

FCC refused a merge between ATT and T-Mobile earlier.

Here are some jobs you forgot to include:

Trump again hires foreign workers for Mar-a-Lago — little change in pay
PALM BEACH — President-elect Donald Trump is driving a hard bargain for the foreign workers who will staff The Mar-a-Lago Club this winter.

He’s paying some of them less than they made last year, and most get just a 1 percent raise.

As the presidential campaign heated up, Trump won approval to hire 64 foreign workers through the federal government’s H-2B visa program, according to newly released data from the U.S. Labor Department. Last year, Trump was allowed to hire 69 foreign workers at Mar-a-Lago.

However, hiring workers from abroad seems to contradict Trump’s public pronouncements. The president-elect has publicly shamed Carrier Corp., Ford Motor and others for their decisions to move manufacturing jobs to Mexico.

Neither Trump’s transition team nor Mar-a-Lago’s manager responded to requests for comment. During a March presidential debate, Trump defended his hiring of foreign workers.

“It’s very, very hard to get people,” Trump said. “Other hotels do the exact same thing.”

CareerSource Palm Beach County, a nonprofit job placement agency, says it knows plenty of American citizens willing to work at Mar-a-Lago.

“We have hundreds of qualified candidates and hundreds of job orders for various hospitality positions such as servers, chefs, cooks, bartenders, housekeeping, guest services, spa services, recreation, maintenance and more,” CareerSource spokesman Tom Veenstra said.

While Mar-a-Lago asks the federal government for dozens of H-2B visas every tourist season, the private club has asked CareerSource for help finding a local employee only once in the past decade, Veenstra said. That was a 2015 request for a single banquet server.

Does Trump have plans to ditch his Italian-made bespoke suits and put American tailors to work?

Trump simply taking credit for things that were not his doing lol. Typical Trump throw his name on stuff he has very little to do with, expect the charade to continue. Remember facts aren't facts anymore according to his people.

Carrier was planning on staying all along. Trump had nothing to do with it.

True and not true. That deal was for 25 not 50 billion with Saudi Arabia adding some in. All a maybe only deal. This is a 50 billion dollar done deal Softbank only thanks to Trump. The Sprint, T-Mobile thing is also IMO True. Is that bad or good time will tell. Overall I love it.

In October, SoftBank announced it would create a $100 billion fund – with the backing of Saudi Arabia – in a bid to become the “biggest investor in the technology sector,” Son said at the time.

    Who's been telling you lies?

Also...when has a merger ever created more jobs?

I take it your two strikes are over. Welcome back to your normal self John. Sorry your side lost. I wouldn't talk about facts with anyone. You're the creator of this junk thread.
