Not sure why your confused. Surely a guy that can throw an ice javelin hurling through the air while anticipating the wind, velocity of movement from the dragon wings and relative speed of said dragon....hit it....can figure out how to drop some chains in the murky water, hook it and pull it up.

    Come on cheesebeef.

Sucks when simple physics don't apply to a gigantic army of rotting corpses. Reality just flew out the window with those chains.

HA. You guys want to hear something funny?

My son just brought up a good point today. He told me Dad, that dead dragon has holes in it's wings. He said you know how crappy his wings would actually perform with those holes? He said plus it's going to rot. He said by the time they get to the end of the show, the thing shouldn't be able to fly unless these events are days apart between now and the end of the show.

    I said...yeah...I got nothing. LOL.

if that's the case, when faced with a river or something blocking their path, why would they just walk into the ocean, sink and then walk to the other side?

and before anyone brings up the "it's a show about Dragons and undead and you're expecting there to be logic?!" BS argument... I just prefer my shows stick to the rules THEY set for themselves. Throwing them out the window simply for story purposes, bothers the hell out of me.

and Bran's entire character bothers me a lot now also. He's more a plot device than anything else... like a "break in case of emergency" story-fixer, where if there's a big problem that can't be solved by anything but him seeing it, he's a one-stop story-fixing shop. If he can see everything in the future and past, shouldn't he had already been aware of the annulment before Sam tells him about it? Again, I got no problem with setting rules that defy logic, but when the show willfully defies it's own rules, it's a bugaboo for me as a story-teller.

Wait can he see the future? I thought he could only see the past and present? Remind me. He had the one prophetic dream but that is not the same thing as seeing the future. Plus he doesn't know all. Remember he had to be told what was in the record books at the Citadel.

i mostly agree with this, but Bran has not been portrayed as omniscient. He can see the past, but isn't going to look everywhere, for all time. He only goes where either directed by the old TER, or where he feels a need to see.

lol...walking on land probably helps keep the group together...we may yet see them walk across a river pending how far south they get next season...
oceans might be tougher.. not as much current to deal with but hungry fish may deplete their army somewhat

    no. just meant the past.

but the record books at the Citadel is what I'm talking about. That happened in the past, whether it was Whatever Targarean getting the annulment or someone writing it down.

I was referring to the scene when Samwell had to tell Bran what was in the books. Bran couldn't see them evidently because he asked Samwell "are you sure".

Yeah... I KNOW what scene you're talking about. The question is if Bran can see ALL in the present and past, it makes no sense that Sam would have had to tell Bran what was in the books. It's in the books because it HAPPENED IN THE PAST, A PAST BRAN SHOULD SUPPOSEDLY HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF.

Sorry for all caps, but thought I was being clear before so wanted to make crystal clear here.

the point being... Bran can "see" all of the past. However he has not "seen" all of the past.. if given a point of reference he can go back and look for certain events. This was the case with Sam telling him about the marriage,..he then went back and looked for that specific event.
had nobody ever told him it happened he likely would have never gone to look for it.
he doesn't "know" everything that has happened... but he has access to the records

NO I GOT YOU THE FIRST TIME for clarity.

I was making the point that even if he can see the present, he can't see all the present. Even when he sees the past he has been pointed to a particular event.

So he doesn't appear to be omnipresent that's all. At least that's how I took his character to be. I could be wrong. There are better experts than I here on the characters.
