Just curious about how people feel about Dragan Bender after this season.

I doubt anyone is going to give up anything for him so trading him is most likely pointless but we sure as heck would look better right now if we had simply drafted Chriss at #4 and Labissiere at #13 and someone like Zubac or Brogdon at #28, as I campaigned for!

I never wanted the Suns to draft him, but now that they have, they need to hold onto him long enough to figure out what he can be. It makes no sense to take a long-term prospect at #4 and then dump him after a year.

Wouldn't trade him and still intrigued at his possibility even though head says expect the worst.

I said maker at #13 for a dark horse swing for the fences move and he's turning out alright.

He's a project for sure but I can tell he's special when watching him. He moves, dribbles, passes, defends in a manner that is just not seen in someone his size. His shot mechanics are smooth as well. I wouldn't worry too much. In a couple years, he'll be a cornerstone of our team. I'm glad we took him.

He gets an incomplete on the season. But he passes the eye test with his handles and movement. I have no doubt he will only get better with time and maturity on and off the court. Ive never felt that way about Len. Even after his rookie season. Bender is very young but he gets it. Give him time.

I think the part in bold summarizes Bender's first season.

His .364 free throw percentage bothered me but he only took 11 attempts.

Also I realized most of his shots came from 3 point range. If I am reading his stats correctly, 101 of 161 of his field goal attempts were from this distance. This may have contributed to his poor FG percentage plus he was not physically mature enough to play inside.

I want to see want Bender can do when he matures physically.

He looked good, but he was timid, needs to physically mature, and he needs to work a bit on his shot.

He has the chance to be a special player if he develops correctly.

Wish there was an option for, "no, I'm not happy, but we should not trade him."

The board is overwhelmingly happy with him according to this poll. I do see now that some else has now joined slin in wanting him gone... or, more likely, slin snuck in under another name and voted a second time.
