Being that you win games offensively by driving in runs, I took a look at RBI's per 400 official at-bats for our top hitters.

Descalso and Pollock are right at the top.

    PLAYER................RBI's......PRORATED TO 400 OFFICIAL AB's

    DESCALSO............39...............................88
    POLLOCK..............33...............................88
    LAMB...................21...............................76
    MURPHY...............18...............................64
    PERALTA..............37...............................58
    AHMED................32...............................57
    GOLDSCHMIDT.....37...............................56
    MARTE................28...............................48

Only the 5-8 players on the list are regular uninjured starters.
Descalso and Murphy are spot starters.
Pollock and Lamb have missed a lot of time.
And Goldy and Marte were disappointments until recently.

What this doesn't take into account are righty-lefty splits.
Descalso, Murphy and Ahmed probably bat more against
pitchers who throw from the opposite side than they hit,
    which is an advantage.

But it tells one thing. When a player comes up to bat,
who can be counted on more to drive in runs.

Descalso and Murphy are the two unexpected sources.
