I m sure iupati will be cut too, and AD as well Curious to know how our cap would be before free agency starts
Start with 17, add 14 for Carson, add 6 million for Iupati. 3.5 million for AD Veldheer 6.9 million is a possibility Bucannon 5th year option is set at 8 million which I think the team can reduce with a new contract Mauro 2.8 million is a possibility Dawson 3.5 million they can probably get a cheaper kicker Bethea 3.5 million, old and injured, could be a possibility There are other contracts they can play with too. I think they get to at least 45 million
Yeah. Was just reading about this. Potentially a great grab by the Niners. Grrr. 49ers will make every effort to keep Jimmy Garoppolo http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21943880/san-francisco-49ers-try-keep-jimmy-garoppolo-long-term
Nice. I think we'll have a good amount of money to work with. Now the question is, who to target? I think Veldheer is probably gone, so at least an OT and then we need some receivers. I'm still a fan of trying to bring in a guy like Terrelle Pryor on the cheap along with a couple of other vets to all compete. And draft a few guys. What we do on a higher value level depends on if Fitz retires, IMO.
Veldheer is reporting that he wants to play next year & he isn't having any thoughts of retiring. That doesn't mean the Cards won't cut him to save cap space or try to re-work his deal.
I watched him play pretty heavily with the Browns and Redskins. He's pretty decent for what the price should be and fills a need as a guy with speed and size. He's better than anything we have on our roster right now aside from Fitz (Chad Williams and JJ Nelson). He could compete for #2 or settle in as the #3.
