I dont remember but 79 for a rookie who was picked at #31 isn't really that bad. I know he has a 97 rating for stiff arm too though (beanie wells). I guess ratings have been changed in madden this year. 75 is about the average player. To be a 79 before he even plays a game is actually pretty good. I don't think Hightower was a 79 to finish the year last year in madden though.

If ya look at the link, all the ratings for rookies have been scaled back.

I actually hope that he chooses a different number. All I can see right now with #28 is JJ. I liked the idea someone posted about wearing #31. He should've never fell that far and it would be a reminder to all those teams who passed on him.

There's a very good chance Wells will make you forget. A lot of JJ's college production came from a good offensive line that let him get to the second level untouched. Wells... didn't have that luxury. Ohio St had some trouble there this year.

I'm not anti-JJ, I'm just too familiar with him wearing that number for the Cardinals at this point.

It's kind of like David Carr and Matt Schaub with the Texans. I'm not particularly familiar with that team at all but every time I see Schaub wearing #8 all I can think of is David Carr.

I know a lot of these guys are pretty attached with their numbers so I won't be surprised if he wants to keep his college number and it will be great for the Cardinals if he does for #28 what Barry Sanders did for a much more impressive(than JJ) predecessor's #20(Billy Sims) in Detroit. But I would still like to see him wear something else just out of my personal preference.

Someone else posted that he's officially listed with #36 at this point so we'll see.
