I get that. I just can't envision a scenario where the Cavs trade that pick unprotected without getting a single top-flight asset back.

The "other" Bamba in this draft. Mitchell Robinson. This kid was considered to be right there in this draft class with Ayton, Bamba, and Jackson, but decided to sit out a year and then go in the draft. Could be an under the radar option for the Miami pick.

The only thing I worry about with Robinson is intangibles. Look up any interview with the kid and it is a bit of a concern. Not that you have to be good at interviews to be a good player or teammate, but I have some concerns when you combine it with the weird Western Kentucky thing.

Trae showing his complete game offensively. Excellent vision in the clutch.

That three state area where Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky merge very much represents the old South.

I think we will have to be in the top three to get him.

Boy, he just does not cool down.

Somehow, I think he is just destined to a Sun. Don't know why.

I also thought he will slow down after a few or even a half-dozen good/great games. He just doesn't and keeps destroying every opponent.

I really can't recall a player (if one ever existed) that averaged 30PPG/10APG for a top25 college team. Add that he is a freshman and Trae Young is simply writing history.

From your mouth to God's ear, JC! There is very little I would not trade to get Young in the Suns uniform next year.

I'm sorry to say that it will have to be rephrased to, "Trae Young is just what the Suns need."

Because the Suns have a rich history of great PG's. They had a team with KJ, Kidd, and Nash at the same time during the 90's. It's more likely we get a great PG than a great big.

trae Young is a perfect example of why scouting sites and scouts need to remember it's not an exact science. Trae Young was rated one slot BEHIND UCLA freshman Jaylen Hands by 1 of the major scouting sites and essentially even with him. Young is rewriting NCAA record books as a freshman at OU, and Hands has already lost his starting job and for a kid who wanted to be a 1 and done he looks remarkably like a kid who will be a 4 year player at UCLA.

But scouts looked at the 2 and said Hands is taller, longer and bouncier and the rest is history.

Hands has no left hand(ironic) and can't dribble more than 3 times in any direction without almost losing the ball, and Young looks like a smaller Steph Curry. Yet virtually everyone had them rated about even coming into college.

Great point. I'm pretty sure NOBODY had Young ahead of Trevon Duval, who has been really disappointing imho. All the talk before the year was Duval vs. Sexton as the best pg prospect. Young wasn't even part of the conversation. Imagine how ridiculous that Duke team would be if you switched Young and Duval!

At one point last year KU was the lead school for Young, Porter (as a package) and Ayton.

We don’t like to talk about t.
