Royals have traded LHP Ryan Buchter and DH/1B Brandon Moss to Oakland for right-hander Jesse Hahn and Minor League right-hander Heath Fillmyer. This could clear some payroll space for a certain free-agent first baseman you know.

Haven't paid much attention to the offseason but it seems like there's little going on w/r/t the D-Backs and re-signing JD is a pipedream.

one day after signing gregor blanco, the #SFGiants are signing andres blanco. he receives $1.1M plus 400K incentives. also an MLB spring invite. (plus outs to sign with an Asian team if not on roster)

Eric Hosmer’s camp has continued pushing for a contract of more than 7 years, source says. [He is a young free agent at age 28.] The #Royals’ need to re-sign him (and capacity to pay him) increased with this week’s Brandon Moss trade. @MLBNetwork @MLB

Slowest market I can remember. Darvish, JD, Hosmer, Arrieta and Moustakas still unsigned and it's February.

Good, hopefully this becomes a trend and helps small & middle market teams stay competitive when agents like Boras can't hold teams hostage and big pocket owners aren't just willing to outbid everyone and raise the already ridiculous salaries of players. There needs to be a pay scale and salary cap in baseball, its time.

Why do you want to punish players? They are the only reasons we watch the game. You really think it will change anything to cap their earning abilities?

How is it punishing them? They will still make a lot of money. Do you see NBA & NFL players complaining? It’s overdue, agents like Boras are ruining the game because we as fans are the ones that end up suffering, we ultimately end up paying literally especially small market teams.
