#1 When you start a Cards web site and you are worried about it being a flop, a total failure, and you show the Cards PR people 15 months later that over 29,000 individual Cards fans visited the site in February, and they gasp in amazement.

When Mike Jurecki congratulates all of you for a great effort; when Michael Bidwill tells Jo Sparkes ASFN does a great job; when Kent Somers of the AZ Republic tells Jo he likes her stuff; when 3 reporters from 3 different organizations are ASFN regulars; when 3 different Cards employees are ASFN regulars; when 5 different Cards players are ASFN junkies; when the Cards Media Directoer has ASFN on his "favorites list" on his computer; when ASFN is the 122,000th most visited web site in the entire nation.

That's when you know people appreciate you, Cardinals fans.

Individually, we aren't much of a factor, collectively, we are becoming a force.

And don't forget the legendary "Partridge."

What's neat about this thread - and Skkorp's response - is that all kinds of nifty things have come together

    - lots of Cardinal rooters (more and more of whom are becoming increasingly hard core)

    - 100 reasons why they are Cardinal rooters

    - A small number of hard-core dudes (and dudesses) with a vision (plus the elbow grease to make it happen)

    - Recognition, acceptance and participation by club brass, players and media.

    - And the inevitable success plus the accolades that come with it.

Amongst us are several who believe that it takes an array of things to happen for a franchise to become truly successful. Turning around a somewhat lethargic fan base is one of them. I think we are well on our way.

    Honorable Mention...

You know you're a real Cardinal fan when this happens:

    Her side of the story:

He was in an odd mood Sunday night. We planned to meet at a bar for a drink. I spent the afternoon shopping with the girls and I thought it might have been my fault because I was a bit later than I promised, but he didn't say anything much about it.

The conversation was very slow going so I thought we should go off somewhere more intimate so we could talk more privately. We went to this restaurant and he was STILL acting a bit funny. I tried to cheer him up and started to wonder whether it was me or something else. I asked him, and he said no. But I wasn't really sure.

So anyway, in the car on the way back home, I said that I loved him deeply and he just put his arm around me. I didn't know what the hell that meant because you know he didn't say it back or anything.

We finally got back home and I was wondering if he was going to leave me! So I tried to get him to talk but he just switched on the TV. Reluctantly, I said I was going to go to bed. Then after about 10 minutes, he joined me and to my surprise, we made love.

But, he still seemed really distracted, so afterwards I just wanted to confront him but I just cried myself to sleep. I just don't know what to do anymore. I mean, I really think he's seeing someone else.

    His Side of the Story:

The Cardinals lost again. Got laid though.

My wife used to go to the Sports bars with me to watch the games every Sunday, dressed in Cardinal gear, and helped me yell at Gene Stallings.

Now that we have children she takes them out of the house until Monday. :D
