2007 Season Report Card

Date December 30, 2007

Following today’s excellent 48-19 win over the Rams, the Cardinals have posted their third non-losing season since moving to Arizona. Their 48 point single game total is an Arizona Cardinal record. Without question, especially in terms of putting points on the scoreboard (how about eight straight games with 20 or more points?) and taking close games […]

Christmas Shopping for 2008

Date December 24, 2007

Yesterday’s dramatic 30-27 OT win for the Cardinals over the Falcons has given the franchise, with a win versus the Rams next week, an opportunity to post its second non-losing season since its move to Arizona. Despite another 4th quarter defensive meltdown yesterday (save the nice three stops they made inside the 10 on the Falcons’ last […]

COPING

Date December 19, 2007

Each of us has our way of coping with a few disappointments. Throw things at the television. Jump up and down on your Cardinals Baseball cap. Present a finger to a police officer at an inappropriate time.
I don’t recommend the latter.

The Saints Go Marching On

Date December 16, 2007

This year’s Arizona Cardinals made things interesting for 14 weeks…give them credit for that. But, today’s 31-24 loss to the Saints was particularly disconcerting, seeing as the Cardinals made a plethora of mistakes that, at this time of year, are pretty much inexcusable…like continuing to throw the ball into tight coverage when the momentum is […]

Thoughts welling up from Broncos/Texans game

Date December 14, 2007

1. Saw and listened to the whole thing. Looks like Bryant motor-mouth Gumbel has been fired. Much better.
2. Seeing Cutler play again, I’m convinced he will develop into something special, even though he threw four terrible sure picks straight into Texans’ dbs hands, two of them in the end zone, only to be saved by […]

Reshuffling The Cards

Date December 10, 2007

After yesterday’s disappointing 42-21 loss to the Seahawks, the Cardinals need to adjust quickly on the fly in order to resurrect their diminishing playoff hopes. It would seem imperative that–to have any real chance- the Cardinals will need to win their remaining three games (at New Orleans and home versus Atlanta and St. Louis)…and they will […]

Grading Coach D’Antoni

Date December 3, 2007

Guest Blogger: Old Dirt McGirt
When he first took the Suns job, Mike D’Antoni was heralded as an offensive genius who was destined to save the NBA from plodding defensive half court basketball and finally lead the Suns to their first NBA title. However, as the seasons progressed, it seems as if we find different and […]

Who Let the Cards Out? Chirp, Chirp, Chirp, Chirp!

Date December 2, 2007

The Cardinals have atoned for last week’s disappointment, by earning a hard-fought must win versus the Cleveland Browns, 27-21. This win puts the Cardinals right in the thick of the NFC Wild Card race. As of right now the Redbirds are tied at 6-6 with the Lions and Vikings for the #6 spot…with the Vikings holding […]
