Torn ligaments confirmed, but now Kurt Warner may play Sunday?
October 16, 2007 by Mike Olbinski
Poor Darren Urban over at the official Arizona Cardinals site keeps getting mixed signals. First ESPN reports that Warner will only miss a week, but no one in Cards camp has told Urban that.
Then the MRI reveals that he did indeed tear ligaments in his elbow and will miss next week and then be week-to-week after that.
Now Warner is saying he might “give it a go” this weekend against the Washington Redskins.
Wow. What a stud.
I like what Darren says about how Warner knows what’s at stake and that’s why he wants to play.
My only worry is that injury and fumbling. We’ve seen how prone he is to putting the ball on the turf, but now if his grip is slightly weaker because of those torn ligaments?
Still, all that matters really is that the line gives him time to throw, because his throwing arm is just fine.
Stay tuned and thanks Darren for the reports from camp, even if they keep tossing you curveballs.
At least you can hit them…which is more than I can say for the Diamondbacks.
Just kidding.

While discussing this with my better half (newbie Cardinals fan) she made a great point.
What does Warner have to lose ?
This is/might be his last shot at the spot light. Matt will be back next season and will be the starter.
It would be a risk for Warner but at this point it is a risk Warner is willing to take.
I for one, am amazed the old man is going to try it.
