Phoenix Suns preseason kicks off tonight

Date October 11, 2007 by Mike Olbinski

The Phoenix Suns travel to Sacramento for an exhibition games against the Kings.

Brian Skinner has a bruised hip and wont be playing. KTAR this morning had a clip of Mike D’Antoni stating that the team would likely play “normally” the first three quarters, and then rest the starters in the fourth.

I talked to a friend I have at the Suns and he confirmed that there are no games on regular TV this preseason for Phoenix but it is on NBA League Pass tonight on channel 751 on Direct TV. I assume the score and stats will be on places like Sportsline.com so you can follow along there.

From the “great news department”, it appears Amare Stoudemire’s rehab for the knee surgery he had just recently is going very well and he could possibly be back before preseason ends.

A couple of side notes:

Grant Hill was so surprised by the size of the crowd waiting to watch the Suns play their scrimmage in Tucson, he “thought there was a Beatles concert or something”…

The rookies are looking good, something I’m excited about. There is nothing more fun than to watch young guys grow into great players. Will D.J. Strawberry and Alando Tucker do that? You never know, but I remember Shawn Marion coming out and making a huge impact on the team. One of these guys could end up doing the same. Strawberry’s defense particularly has been impressive.

I’m not sure why people keep asking if the SUNS broadcast their pre-season games. They never have as far as I know. They want people to show up to the games.

Well, they made a big deal out of all the games being in HD this year, I figured with the team popularity, they’d show more of it on TV.

Don’t they technically broadcast these games, it’s just that they only show up on League Pass? It’s not like some NBA League Pass team is coming in to film is it?
