Dbacks Fans…Well done!

That was fun!
Going to game one of the Diamondbacks/Cubs series I was not sure what to expect in terms of the fan ratio. I was concerned that we would be embarrassed on national TV with a crowd of mostly Cubs fans in our building.
Fortunately the game was on TBS, so knowing that nobody was actually going to watch the game made me feel a bit better. More than that, though, when the game started one could see that Dbacks fans represented and represented well!

Sure, you can argue that the Cubs fans had very little to cheer about and that’s why they weren’t very loud or boisterous. I disagree. Cubs fans had chances, and they were very much drowned out by a fan base that seems to be growing at the same rate as the team they are watching.
How awesome was it that every time the Cubs fans tried to start a “Let’s Go Cubbies!†chant the Dbacks fans responded and drowned it out? All I could hear from my seats was chanting that didn’t quite sound like English, which could have been because the Cubs fans were speaking unintelligibly, but I would bet my money on it being because Dbacks fans owned them this evening.
I remember my first blog on this site was about how much I hated Cubs fans, and that I was disturbed by the force that they seemed to be when they played the Diamondbacks during the regular season. In one of my personal blogs on this site I even mentioned how I was concerned to play the Cubs because I feared us Dbacks fans would be outnumbered at the games. I was wrong, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
So let’s keep it going Dbacks fans, let’s win the battle in the stands while our team wins the battle on the field!
