Arizona Sports…Your Day Has Come
October 13, 2007 by Adam Green
Sunday will be a defining day for Arizona Sports.
First, the Cardinals take on the Carolina Panthers in a game featuring a pair of 3-2 teams. Then the D-Backs face the Rockies in game three of the NLCS.
The stakes are huge for both teams.
If the Cards win, they will be 4-2 for the first time since the 2002 season and would have the look of a team that has finally turned the corner.
For the Dbacks, a loss pretty much ends their magical season, because one cannot expect them to come back from a 3-0 deficit against a team that is on an amazing run right now, especially when there would be two more road games to deal with. A win, however, would give new hope to a team and a fan base that has been ripped in the media for the better part of the last week.
All that said, who would have thought, even a month ago, that this blog could even be written?
The Cards had that rough first game, and people were questioning Whisenhunt’s training camp as well as the QB situation.
The Dbacks, well, I’ve been predicting their collapse all season. I could not be happier to be wrong.
So here we are. The Cardinals have a chance to make all of us believe, and the Dbacks have a chance to climb back into a series on a stage that they probably shouldn’t even be on.
I don’t know what will happen, but if I had to guess I’d say our home teams will each come out on top tomorrow. That would be great.
But I do know one thing: It’s going to be an exciting day.
