Anquan Boldin doubtful on Sunday, yet able to wrestle?

Date October 14, 2007 by Mike Olbinski

In reading over a great fantasy site I frequent, the question of Anquan Boldin’s toughness was raised. Despite being listed as doubtful again this week, yet said to be “physically able to play” by coach Ken Whisenhunt, he was pretty active on Thursday. Wrestling? Huh?

According to Mike Tulumello of the East Valley Tribune:

“‘Boldin looked as healthy as a horse Thursday in pulling a prank on rookie Steve Breaston. Boldin jumped him and wrestled him to the ground just after practice and put the rookie in a pin position. ‘I told him, ‘We fold rookies up like towels,’’ he said. ‘He didn’t believe me, so I had to prove it.’ Boldin joked that his easy pin shouldn’t be viewed in the context of whether he’ll play Sunday. ‘That’s too easy,’ he said. ‘It doesn’t determine where I am physically.’”

The fantasy world is obviously very focused on injuries to players because it’s their job to alert owners of potential injury ricks. Draftsharks.com is comparing him to Priest Holmes in terms of this cryptic hip drama.

I’ve never thought of Boldin as being anything other than Hercules himself on a football team, so these suggestions and comparisons surprise me. They finished their weekly article stating:

“Wow Anquan, we were comparing you to Hines Ward in the preseason. To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen from the famous 1988 Vice-Presidential debate: “We know Hines Ward. Hines Ward is a friend of ours. You sir, are no Hines Ward.”

Here’s to hoping we see Anquan out there soon enough. And not just because he’s the best player on MY fantasy team either.
