Amare Stoudemire surgery update
October 1, 2007 by Mike Olbinski
Paul Coro from AZCentral wrote about the surgery tonight, basically stating that the surgery is on the right knee, which is not the one that had the microfracture procedure done on it.
The swelling in the right knee has been a problem before though, and this is the second scope to be performed on it. The last time was in 2005-06 at the end of the season, which removed some debris and a cyst.
Coro reports that last season during camp, there was some stiffness in that same knee, but he went on to have an amazing season and play in all 82 games, plus the post-season.
Hopefully this turns out to be a minor incident, but the last time his troubled left knee was to undergo an arthroscopic procedure, they ended up doing microfracture on him.
It still begs the question why Amare played in FIBA games this summer, when clearly the more important goal should be the Phoenix Suns and a championship.
Let’s hope for the best.
