Arizona Cardinals: Around the Horn
September 25, 2007 by Mike Olbinski
In the coming weeks, we’ll try to help grab the latest headlines from around the league on various Arizona sports teams and post them in an “around the horn” format. Hope you enjoy it!
Nolan Nowraki from Pro Football Weekly wrote today that the Arizona Cardinals are a “sleeping giant.” He glows over the offensive line improvements and how they’ve only given up two sacks this season. He says a lot of great things about the team that are worth reading.
From AZCentral today, Paula Boivin talks about “Matt Leinart being at a crossroads.” She interviews Kurt Warner who is just the most humble teammate you could ask for. The young quarterback is learning and growing and with a mentor like Warner, he only has one direction to go: Up.
On AOL Sports, JJ Cooper took the time to point out how Pittsburgh is facing the “known” this weekend in the Ken Whisenhunt coached Red Birds. Since the teams know each other so well, and Whisenhunt helped write the Steelers’ playbook, Cooper expects there could be some interesting, razzle-dazzle plays on Sunday.

It seems that every year lately we’ve heard the media call the Cardinals a “sleeping giant”. The problem is, Rip Van Winkle still hasn’t woken up. We’re coming up on 20 years now, so maybe the team will roll out of bed soon.
Good on you, Michael.
