The weakness of a true 4-3 defense lies in the unrelenting pressure it puts on the secondary. We need to blitz in every passing situation and hope for the best.

Thanks BigRedRage...yeah...wonder if Pendy will adopt some of the LeBeau-type zone blitzing schemes. Heck, the way Wilson blitzes, it's fine with me if they send him every play.

I hope you are right about Rolle, David. If you are right about Rolle, what a boost that would be for the Cards' chances. Your assessment of Green is an accurate one. What are your thoughts about Hood? Francisco was getting run with the first team in mini-camp, so I am not too sure the coaches don't think he can be a starter, although it seems AW has been campaigning for Holt...for Francisco to win the starting job---if the Cards do play a base 3-4 (geared to stop the run)---he is going to have to prove he is a just as good or better than Holt as a centerfielder, because the 3-4 will put more pressure on the Cardinals' secondary to defend the pass...and if the front 7 is doing its job slowing the run, the FS won't have to be the leading tackler the way Griffith had to be in some games.

Rolle will show tremendous improvement this year. Last year he suffered from being injured in the off season. With a complete off season conditioning program and almost two years to recover from his injury, his quickness and speed will return. More help from the safety position and an improve pass rush will also allow him to play closer to line and use his strengths.

Greens main problem is in his head. He has the physical tools to be an outstanding starting corner. He talks too much on the field and lets his emotions get out of control. If he can play smart and control his temper ,we will have two outstanding corners.

Holt is an upgrade at free safety and hopefully Fransico will given the chance to start during the season. I agree that he looks promising but I don't think the coaches believe he is starting material at this time.

Pendy needs to blitz like crazy this year, that broncos game was maddening. I hope whiz is all over him telling him to be aggressive like 2004.
